The time has come: After almost two years without trade fairs, we are looking forward to the latest trends and technologies, exciting products and discussions with our customers, partners and journalists at The smarter E Europe. Meet us at Europe’s largest platform for the energy sector on October 6 and 7 in Munich!
For Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy, we organized, managed and moderated a meeting to inform citizens of its latest project in April. Statkraft is planning to build a wind farm in the community of Wesertal in 2025 and attaches great importance to transparent, early communication.
Due to Corona, this first event took place digitally. We are currently planning the second such meeting for September as live and in-person. We are looking forward to the cooperation!
Digital trade fairs, customer meetings and workshops. Clients and journalists working from home. The year of 2020 has turned our agency’s daily business upside down. Despite the COVID 19 pandemic, we can look back on a successful year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients for allowing us to support them with press relations, social media campaigns and digital formats.

Since November we – as an external press office – have been assisting the world market leader for photovoltaic cleaning equipment SunBrush mobil. Not only are we advising the company about its ongoing communication strategy and international media relations, but also building up its LinkedIn profile. We are looking forward to working with SunBrush.
On April 15th, our Social Media Manager Sabrina Iven explained the basics of social media work for companies in a webinar. Using many examples, she showed the 30 participants how to build up their social media presence successfully and ensure more followers, reach and interaction. She gave helpful tips from the selection of topics to monitoring and answered a wide range of questions.

The fully booked webinar attracted a wide audience. In addition to managing directors, marketing and PR managers of wind and solar companies, representatives of lighting and storage companies and journalists took part.

On November 13, we visited Data Centre World in Frankfurt am Main. There, our customer Socomec introduced its new UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) solution MODULYS XL. We already announced this product presentation in the run-up to the trade fair by a press release and an invitation to the trade press. Journalists visiting the fair came to Socomec booth for background talks and interviews. On 30th September, PR consultant Thomas Blumenhoven held a workshop entitled “In Dialogue: How to Position Your Messages with Journalists and Respond to Negative Headlines” in the run-up of the 8th “Windstammtisch” by Hasewind. Blumenhoven initially gave all 13 participants an overview of the current problem of negative reporting on wind energy projects in the local press and its consequences for acceptance. All participants of the workshop had already had experience with “bad news” and polemic-communicating citizens’ initiatives. Their intention to visit the workshop was therefore to obtain clear instructions for a more proactive communication work.
Jointly developed communication measures
Under the moderation of Thomas Blumenhoven, the participants contributed their ideas for a professional public relations work on site with practice-oriented exercises. This included, among other things, the correct definition of target groups, the selection of interesting topics or appropriate content for statements and press releases. Blumenhoven supplemented the exercises with advice on how to get in touch with the local press, how to involve experts, and how best to prepare for an interview.
Afterwards we took part in the “Windstammtisch” event at the invitation of Gerhard Hinnah (see photo, copyright: Carolin Stangenberg). The participants used the event for networking and demanded from the politicians present clear improvements in the framework conditions for onshore wind energy.
On the 10th of September we visited this year’s HUSUM Wind. PR consultant Thomas Blumenhoven exchanged views with customers, held discussions about the current situation in the wind power industry and informed himself about the latest projects and products. The organizers expect that the fair with its 600 exhibitors will attract about 18,000 visitors. Already during our visit on the first day of the fair, it was clear that the industry is using the HUSUM Wind primarily for the purpose of exchanging ideas in order to prepare for the current political and economic challenges.Read more
Successful social media campaigns and press events
For the second time, “The smarter E” Europe took place in Munich in mid-May with the four trade fairs Intersolar, ees, Power2Drive and EM Power. As in the previous year, we also supported the organiser Solar Promotion with social media work in advance and on site at this year’s fair. Our video statements for ees Europe and Power2Drive Europe were a great success: Under the hashtag “PushEnergyTransition” the managing directors, marketing and sales managers of renowned exhibitors such as ads-tec, CATL, Huber+Suhner and Siemens explained how their companies and products are driving the energy transition forward. We integrated numerous other exhibitors into the social media work with statements, product, stand and employee photos. This enabled us not only to significantly increase the reach of the LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels, but also to increase the interaction rates – more likes, comments and shares.
Successful press events
Our press event, which we organised for the salt water storage manufacturer BlueSky Energy, also met with a great response this year: 16 editors from renowned industry media listened to the presentation by Managing Director Helmut Mayer. We then arranged numerous one-on-one meetings and placed 60 digital press kits with interested journalists.
For the solar wholesaler Redpoint new energy, however, we organized a press event at ees Europe to present the world’s first manufacturer-independent electricity cloud. For our customer my-PV, we organised background discussions with the most important industry media. TÜV Rheinland booked us for the invitation management for a press lunch.
