The inverters made by the Bavarian enterprise SolarMax are already well known in the industry, and now the company has developed its own power storage units. We recommended that SolarMax inform the international trade press about this using a new product presentation at the Intersolar Europe trade fair, a social media campaign and accompanying PR activities.
First of all we announced the plans for developing the new storage system solution at a press conference held in association with a tour of the production facilities. In the second phase we organised a new product presentation at Intersolar Europe. This is where the fully modular system was presented to the public for the first time.
We positioned press releases in German and English in the preview reports about Intersolar Europe and invited our press contacts from all over Europe to the event at the company’s exhibition stand at the fair in Munich. The accompanying PR activities included follow-up activities, arranging interviews, preparing and positioning digital press folders, statements, images, videos and trade articles. We also used the free communication opportunities provided by the organisers and communicated our messages both before and during the trade fair via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Around 20 important trade journalists attended our press event at Intersolar Europe. These included journalists from Photon, photovoltaikforum, ep, de, Solarserver and Sonne Wind & Wärme. We also arranged several interviews during the fair, and after the event we handed out 67 digital press folders.
We reached more than 4,000 people with our 14 Facebook posts about Intersolar Europe. The 18 tweets achieved 5,400 page impressions, and we scored 5,000 page impressions on LinkedIn during the three days of the fair alone.
