While studying for her chemistry degree, Iris Krampitz soon realised that she was more interested in interviewing researchers and developers and writing articles about new technologies than growing crystals and filling separation columns. By 1999 she was already reporting for WindPower Monthly about acceptance issues, visiting the wind test field in Grevenbroich and climbing up and photographing wind turbines. At the same time she was writing about new markets, energy trade fairs and solar recharging stations for the Financial Times Energy Newsletter.
From Bild der Wissenschaft to Renewable Energy World
After completing her master’s degree in chemistry in 2001, Iris Krampitz worked in the University of Cologne press office, as editor for the trade magazines Photon – Das Solarstrommagazin and Photon International, and as a freelance journalist for magazines such as Bild der Wissenschaft, Renewable Energy World and VDI Nachrichten.
In 2004 she founded the PR agency Krampitz Communications. Consistent further development is always on her agenda, and in the past 20 years she has taken many further training courses. In 2017 she became a Chamber of Commerce certified online marketing manager. In addition to being the managing director, at Krampitz Communications she is especially responsible for developing strategies and concepts, client advice and writing trade articles, web, PR and marketing copy.
