2011 | 12 | 21 Renewable Energies under the Christmas Tree

Flip-flap flowers, calculators, hand-held fans – solar-driven games for adults don’t only exist as small gifts for trade fairs, but have been available in most gift shops for a long time. In addition, the manufacturers of children’s games have also begun to rely on renewable energies: four solar modules are mounted on the roof of the new Playmobil farm house, and with experiment kits nine-year olds can produce environmentally friendly electricity with their own, small solar power plants or get to know the basic principles of regenerative energies in a miniature energy-efficient house.

New energies are moving into German kids’ rooms with the greatest of ease. This reflects a pleasing social trend, and at PR consultants’ doors the bells are a-ringing: raising public awareness and addressing target groups in the toy department! This holds potential for companies’ advertising and public relations. In the end, every grown-up who puts such a toy under the Christmas tree for his children is a potential customer for renewable energy. Under the coat of a trendy Santa Claus hides, perhaps, a future PV plant advisor.

Since efficient communication is far from being child’s play, we will gladly consult you – on how you can creatively inspire Kris Kringles and other target groups for renewable energies.
